The local community in Solol Village, Raja Ampat, has a regulation on the Curse of Fishing Gears which has been established since 2018, but information about this is overlooked. This study was conducted in June 2022 to determine what types of fishing gear are used and prohibited in Solol Village, as well as the perception and participation of the community regarding the regulation on this regulation. The types of fishing gear and fishing aids that are cursed and may not be used include tumbu nets, bombs, compressors, potassium, and flashlights. Based on the criteria of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF), not all of these fishing gears are considered environmentally unfriendly. Most respondents stated that they strongly agree (50%) and agree (47%) with this regulation. Although there are no sanctions set for violating these rules, 63% believe that the community complies with these rules, and 70% of respondents even participate in the monitoring process.
